Today's plant of the day is Penstemon Dakota Burgundy!
This upright clump forming herbaceous perennial produces attractive, densely packed spikes smothered in a mass of elegant, tubular pink flowers, over broad, pointed bronzed green to deep burgundy foliage.
Penstemon makes for a real statement in the garden border as well as large patio containers. Their large height adds great variation to plantings, their beautiful pink flowers lighting up your garden from June to August. Deadhead regularly, shortening flower stems by half after flowering to encourage further flowering.
