Work Buddy Scheme

We believe it is a fundamental human right, that everyone has the opportunity to a full and meaningful life.  Here at Care in the Garden we aim to prove that everyone has a right to a place in the working world, even though they may need support to achieve it.

We hope that the corporate world will begin to appreciate and understand this and begin to work with us to further this aim.

We understand that in today's marketplace, with the ever increasing costs, companies may be concerned about incurring extra expenses.  We strive to prove that a person supported by a work buddy can be a productive asset to the company.

We will soon be offering workshops to local businesses to show how this can benefit

  • the company

  • the individual

  • the community

Everyone needs to pull together to create a lasting change.

The video shows our work buddy scheme on operation at the nursery and also at the Garlic Farm.

We provide supported work placements for those who need a little help in the fields of horticulture, woodwork, floristry and crafts. This may involve working on site at the nursery, out in the community, or at one of our partner organisations such as the Garlic Farm.
We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for all our supported workers, so that they can learn new skills and be productive in the work place.
Depending on the task in hand and the needs of the individual supported workers, our work buddies may work on a one to one basis, or with a small number of supported workers at a time.
If you feel that we may be the right provider to help you, or someone you know flourish in the workplace, then please contact us for more information.
