Today's plant of the day is Santolina!
Fine silvery-grey aromatic spiked foliage covers short thin stems. Bright yellow button flowers surround the plant during the season, creating a beautiful colour combo!
These small hedges are great for patio pots and containers, frequently being used in knot gardens. They were formerly used as a remedy for poisonous bites and internal parasites; their flowers also dry well for use in potpourri. Plant in sandy soil and water well; prune to tidy up shape in spring.
